MIRACLE IN THE GREEN RECIPES: BEST PRE WORKOUT SMOOTHIES

Having a healthy body is really important, specially nowadays that we are still battling the coronavirus. We need to always watch our diet as well as make sure that we get to exercise, if not everyday, most of the time.

However, waking up to do an early morning exercise is really a hassle. Most of the time, we just want an extra hour--or more--on our bed, we know the feeling; when you are tired from work and from doing errands, you feel lethargic the next day.

So, to make you feel energized and to prepare you for your early morning session, we have prepared some easy to make best pre workout smoothies for you. Yes, it is easy peasy, so that you don’t even have to sweat before hitting the gym, starting your exercise program or doing your home workout.

What is the importance of a pre workout meal?

Pre workout meal is essential to give us energy--to give fuel to our body for it to work at its best performance.

So for a pre workout meal, your food should contain these two things:

  1. Carbohydrates
  2. Proteins

It is required or recommended to get 0.25mg of both per pound of your target body weight.

What are some examples of pre workout meals?

There are a lot of good pre workout meals out there, but to name a few of the best, smoothies are one of the bests:

  1. Smoothies with powders that contain proteins and some fruits
  2. Oatmeal is a good one as well, make sure to put some fruit in it.
  3. Nuts and Fruits generally is good for pre workout meals
  • You can make a banana and butter sandwich, trail mix or even put fruits in your high protein yogurt of choice.

However, don’t do your workout right away after eating your meal because it can cause discomfort for your digestive system. Also, we want our body to focus on one task at a time, we don’t want a competition from our body trying to digest food at the same time as we try to push our muscles when we workout.

It is advisable to eat 1-3 hours before workout, that way our body has already digested the food that we have consumed pre workout. If you opted for a pre workout smoothie, you can drink it closer to your workout time because smoothies are in liquid form, hence, it digests more easily compared to other meals.
