By shop Miracle in the Green Admin |

Spring Break season is approaching, for some of us that may mean taking a beach getaway or going on a cruise. We're here to help you protect your hair while enjoying your aquatic activities

Hair

Before You Swim You Must...

It's important to take care of your hair before swimming, just as well as after.M ake sure that you shower before your swim. Hair is porous, just like a sponge our hair absorbs everything. So it's best to use a moisturizing conditioner beforehand. Secondly, coat your hair with olive oil before taking a dive into the pool.

During Your Swim

It may seem lame to use a swim cap while swimming, but it's highly recommended, especially if you're going to be in the water for hours at a time.

After Swimming You Must...

Now if you're on vacation you probably see it pointless to keep washing your hair if all you're going to do is wash your hair again the next day. But you must protect your hair and that means washing it after each time you come in contact with Chlorine. Find a good shampoo that gives your hair a good cleaning, especially if you're a curly-haired girl you must protect the curls.

You should let your hair air dry after washing, but if you must blow dry use the hair dryer on a low or medium setting. It takes a little longer, but you will be happy you protected your hair.

How to Protect Your Skin.

 Before Entering The Pool...

Now we know most of us, probably ignore that sign that says rinse before entering the pool. But that isn't insinuating that your dirty, this is an important key to skin protection. Chlorine can cause skin irritation, so before entering the pool rinse your skin with nonchlorinated water.

Make sure that you moisturize, along with putting on sunscreen. Make sure that you put lotion on.

After Your Swim...

Take a shower as soon as you can. You do not want chlorine on your body too long. So make sure that you shower once you get out of the pool to avoid irritation to your skin. After you shower once again moisturize your body with lotion.

So as we approach the warmer weather season, make sure to protect your hair and skin.
